How much do private lessons cost?
There’s no simple answer, as the price depends on many factors: location, lesson frequency, lesson length, number of students, teacher type (Czech vs. native speaker), language (English is cheaper than, say, Greek), etc. We’ll be happy to calculate the exact price for you. Just fill out the request form below and describe what you're looking for. We need the following details:
Do you prefer in-person or online lessons?
Would you like 60 or 90-minute lessons?
How many times per week?
What is your current level?
Do you need general language instruction or a specific focus?
What are your goals and expectations?
What days and times are you available? (The more options, the better.)
To give you a rough idea of pricing, here’s an example:
Language: Czech for foreigners
Lesson length: 60 min
Frequency: once a week
Format: online
Focus: general language
Price: 620 CZK (one-on-one) or 660 CZK (two students = 330 CZK per person)
Students sometimes express surprise at the price, thinking it’s too high. But keep in mind that a teacher’s job includes not only the actual lesson time, but also lesson preparation and (for in-person classes) travel. Compared to the hourly rate of a lawyer (2,000–5,000 CZK), a car mechanic (800–1,500 CZK), or a washing machine repairman (1000 CZK + travel), the price is quite low - or at least fair.
